Holland Park presents a modern character style renovation by DAH Architecture, in conjuction with CRT Homes. The main goal of the landscape design is to compliment and integrate the architectural design principles through the outdoor space.
The existing tile of the front patio was drawn out on concrete pads creating a seamless path from the pedestrian gate to the entrance of the home. Between the steppers the deep green foliage of Ophiopogon japonicus has been chosen to compliment the pads.
In the front area features a spacious lawn area, complemented by a thoughtfully selected array of plants featuring varying shades of green and textures. A Randia fitizlanii contributes to the scene with its vibrant glossy green leaves, adding a touch of liveliness. To establish a sense of structure, Buxus topiaries are strategically placed, lending to the organised and polished appearance. Additionally, two Lagerstroemia natchez serve as elegant enhancers the overall aesthetic.
The deliberate selection of an all-green palette creates contrast against the all-white facade of the home. The interplay between the vibrant green plants, lush lawn, and the pristine white exterior creates a sense of sophistication and elegance. This combination elevates the overall aesthetic appeal of the front of the home, creating a visually stunning and refined feel.
Out the back, a long and narrow strip of lawn extends from the alfresco area all the way to the back of the space. This design choice ensures that the area feels expansive and open, directing the gaze outward instead of upward towards the towering facade of the residence. By utilising the length of the space, a sense of depth is created, allowing for a spacious and visually engaging outdoor environment.
Taking centre stage, a mature ex-ground Olive tree, creating a sense of drama. Its presence is further accentuated by the modern facade of the home. It was essential to include a mature feature tree as a nod to the character and charm of the Queenslander style, offering a reference to the Architectural heritage. This remarkable element not only adds visual interest but also evokes a sense of timelessness and character to the overall landscape design.
To provide privacy and create a visual screen at the back of the residence, a border of Viburnum was added to create a natural barrier but also enhance the overall privacy of the outdoor space. Additionally, a combination of trailing plants will gracefully cascade over the edge of the wall, effectively softening the all-white colour scheme.
The design at this Holland Park Project not only enhances the outdoor space but also integrates seamlessly with the modern character style renovation while celebrating its Architectural heritage, creating a harmonious and visually appealing environment.
