With eight years of experience under his belt, Mat has been transforming ordinary spaces into stunning green paradises, and today, we're giving you a sneak peek into his world.
Mat's design philosophy? It's all about variety and personalization. "I don't really have one style I stick to," he says. "But I do love Palm Springs-inspired gardens along with Hamptons and Coastal designs." Each garden Mat creates is unique, tailored to the style of the house and the needs and lifestyle of the client. Whether it's the sleek, modern lines of a Palm Springs garden or the relaxed, breezy vibes of a Coastal retreat, Mat's designs always hit the mark.
How does Mat keep his designs fresh and innovative? Instagram, of course! "Instagram is the main source where I stay up to date with trends," Mat shares. But it’s not just social media that fuels his creativity; chatting with the talented team at Brooke's Blooms also keeps him in the loop and inspired.
When it comes to inspiration, Mat’s sources are as diverse as his designs. "I draw inspiration from landscape designers around the world," he explains. By observing how other designers use materials and plants to soften edges and experimenting with new plant groupings, Mat continuously pushes the boundaries of garden design. "The mind can be a creative and wonderful thing," he adds, and his work is a testament to that belief.
Even the most creative minds need a break, and for Mat, unwinding means stepping away from the hustle and bustle of the city. "I love heading down to the Gold Coast or taking a couple of holidays throughout the year to see natural landscapes," he says. These escapes not only recharge his batteries but also provide fresh perspectives and ideas for his projects.
