Our clients in Forestdale Brisbane wanted a tropical garden that they could enjoy all year round and at all times of the day and night.
If you properly equip your garden in the planning stages with a few additional features you will be rewarded with a space that is as visually appealing in the dark as it is in the daytime. We are lucky with our climate that we can sit outside at night for most of the year comfortably. In fact, in Summer in Queensland it is often the preferred place to be!
Lighting is of course the first thing that comes to mind when planning a garden that will be visually appealing as well as functional at night. If you didn't install these in the design stages you can still have them retro fitted by a licensed electrician. Alternatively, candles, flame torches ,solar lights, lanterns or temporary electrical lights can be used and are relatively cost effective.
Lighting placed correctly can change the whole appearance of the garden bringing focus to specific plants, pots, sculptures and other design features. In this Forestdale garden the beautiful pots provided by Martin Kellock Pots & Planters and sculptures from Entanglements Metal Art look fantastic with the clever placement of lighting by SJK Electrical & Air. Safety was also taken into consideration by placing lighting along the paths and around any steps. Lighting is also positioned near outdoor seating and furnishings providing extra space for entertaining from where you can enjoy the night garden.
All our senses are heightened at night so take a barefoot walk along the paths and breathe in the fragrances from all your plants & trees. Enjoy.
